Pen Argyl, Pa Labor Day Parade 2010
The Lookout Fire Company #1 of Pen Argyl is proud to announce that they broke a word record part of our 75th Labor Day Celebration and Parade that we are going to be attempt to set a Guinness World Record TM., for the Largest Parade of Emergency Vehicles on a Labor Day Parade !!!! Therefore if you are involved with fire, rescue, police, or ambulance and want you department and vehicles to be apart of the historic event, then come and join us on Monday September 6th,2010 and be ready to be apart of history as this will be the first attempt at this record!!!! Fire Chief Dean Parsons' efforts to establish a new Guinness World Record category culminated Monday with a massive turnout of firetrucks in a seemingly endless display of pumpers, ladder trucks and assorted others.We believe we have the world record," Parsons said after the parade. Then there's a four-month or so wait before the record becomes official.Volunteer firefighters from throughout the region showed up with their rigs to help bring the number of firetrucks to more than 190 vechices. Firetrucks from 12 counties and 68 fire companies rolled down the streets of Pen Argyl as an ear-splitting cacophony of sirens and horns filled the air.
